Below is the email conversations about our experience with Chilson: Hello, I am not sure who I should be sending this email to so I referenced the business cards that were included with our camper information. My husband and I purchased our 2022 Shasta travel trailer from you on May 21, 2022. We were very happy and excited about our new camper. We were going to start putting our camping items in it when I noticed that the storage spot under the table seat felt like it needed to be wiped out. I asked my daughter to do it. Let me just say that my husband ended up having to wipe out the entire camper, top to bottom including walls. It was filthy inside. There was even a handprint inside the refrigerator on the white door which we haven’t been able to completely remove. I guess no one necessarily told us that the camper would be “clean” when we picked it up but for the $34,726 we paid, we were more than surprised. My daughter and son-in-law purchased a travel trailer this year as well, however, they purchased theirs in Wisconsin Rapids. When they picked up their camper it had been detailed. It was beautiful inside. I guess we expected the same with ours. I included pictures of some of the surfaces that they wiped off. The last picture was the one used on the floor. And my husband still had to scrub it by hand to get it clean. I don’t know what the process is for Chilson to prepare a travel trailer for a buyer, maybe this is typical, but I wanted to be sure that you are aware of how our camper was given to us and how disappointed we are. You addressed me as Mary in the last email so I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page. We purchased a travel trailer from you this year. Anyway, I was going through some of my emails and realized that I hadn’t responded to this one and had wanted to. I am glad that you did what you needed to do with your team of employees. Everyone we dealt with was extremely nice and helpful. I have already explained below what issues we had with the purchase so I won’t get into any of that. The only other thing I would mention is that before we actually put the down payment on the trailer, people had been in and out looking at it as it was on your lot. Covid was a very scary thought to us as we lost out beloved father last fall due to covid. We do not want to experience that again. So for a while we kept a very close eye on everyone and were scared that someone would show symptoms. But everyone that was in the camper after we brought it home thankfully didn’t show any signs. I would like to leave a review for Chilson as the purchase of a camper can be a huge financial undertaking. You mentioned in your email that if there was anything you could do to make it up to us to let you know. We do need a cover for the trailer and would be willing to exchange a good, positive review for a decent, dependable cover. Again, sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner.
